IL Dispensary Donating 10% of Monthly Proceeds to VA Hospital

VA Medical Marijuana

From May 1st through the end of the month, Midwest Compassion Center, an Illinois licensed medical marijuana dispensary on the outskirts of Chicago, will donate 10% of net proceeds to Hines VA Hospital. MCC has specifically earmarked the monies to benefit local veterans receiving treatment for amputation.

Midwest Compassion Center co-owner Nicole van Rensburg stated, “We’re excited to team up with Hines VA. Veterans are a group we work closely with, as many of them are registered as medical cannabis patients. We have an ethic of service at Midwest Compassion Center. Of course, we serve our patients, but we also serve our community in many ways. The Hines VA campaign is one of my favorite campaigns because it gives us the opportunity to work with our patients in raising money for a worthwhile local organization.”

There is a growing veteran population in Will County, many of whom suffer from debilitating conditions that qualify for medical cannabis. Patients currently enrolled in the Illinois Medical Cannabis Pilot Program remark that cannabis has helped them with nausea, sleeplessness, anxiety, pain, and many other ailments.
