Top 5 Cannabis Viewpoints for Millennials and Baby Boomers

According to a new study, there is a generational divide between Millennials and Baby Boomers when it comes to cannabis.

Recreational vs Medicinal 

One of the largest differences between the generations is that 49% of Millennials use marijuana for recreational purposes while only 28% of Baby Boomers do. Meanwhile, 50% of Baby Boomers use marijuana for medicinal purposes while only 22% of Millennials do.

Medical Conditions

Millennials reported that chronic pain (27%) and migraines (13%) are their primary medical reasons for using marijuana while Baby Boomers reported arthritis (15%) and chronic pain (13%).

Monthly Expenses

As for expenses, on average, Millennials reported spending $78 per month on marijuana while Baby Boomers spend $75.

Amount of Consumption

As for consumption, 1 in 5 Millennials reported that they consume cannabis daily while just 12% of Baby Boomers do.

Medical Benefits

Nearly 92% of Millennials and 89% of Baby Boomers agree that cannabis has medical benefits, and 68% of Millennials and 61% of Baby Boomers would choose medical marijuana over prescription drugs to treat chronic pain.
