Decades ago vintners frequently created marijuana-infused wines to share with friends or at private gatherings. Generally, it was made with red wines and was a risky endeavor – thanks to the war on drugs.
But marijuana legalization is making marijuana-infused wines much more available to people in wine-making states like California or Oregon where an increasing number of people are making and enjoying the relaxing effects of marijuana-infused wines.
Recently, musician and marijuana activist, Melissa Etheridge, created a product line of marijuana-infused wine tinctures which are exclusively sold at the California, Greenway, in Santa Cruz. Currently, the tinctures are only available to Californians with a valid marijuana ID.
Liquor and marijuanain the US are strict and complex, so legally selling marijuana infused-wine at is difficult. But marijuana laws are rapidly changing for the better which means that marijuana-infused wine could be found at dispensaries around the US in the near future.
